Arcadia Lodge was founded in 1922 and has been owned & operated by the Jones family since 1991. We strive to provide our guests with a family friendly atmosphere, spacious modern cabins, and activities for every member of your family. Our 29 cabins are nestled on the shores of Big Turtle Lake and amongst the trees of Northern Minnesota. Each cabin is unique and offers all the amenities of home with a rustic vibe. Every cabin boasts Central Air Conditioning, High Speed Dedicated Wi-Fi, Full Kitchens, Decks, Screened or 3 Season Porches, Charcoal Grills and More! Big Turtle Lake has 2,000 acres of Sky Blue Water to explore and enjoy. The deep, clear water is perfect for swimming, boating, watersports and some of the best Bass fishing in Northern Minnesota! Arcadia Lodge boasts a large marina with Pontoon and Fishing Boat rentals.

Activities @ Arcadia Lodge
Arcadia Lodge offers a wide range of weekly activities for the whole family. Each week during the summer we have planned activities Monday - Thursday. Enjoy Bingo Night, Tye Dye T-Shirts, Tubing, Bouncy House & Obstacle Course, Donut Day, Make Your Own T-Shirt, Arts & Crafts and so much more! All activities are included for kids! For some activities like Tye Dye or Make Your Own T-shirt there is a small cost for adults to participate, just enough to cover the cost of materials. The activity schedule changes from year to year depending on what's new, staffing etc. Due to this the official summer long schedule is announced in mid May. Each year we make sure there are activities for the different aged kids so the whole family can enjoy them while on vacation.
Our resort activities include the huge floating playground, sandy beach & swimming area, paddle boards, canoes & pontoon paddle boats. We also have a volleyball and basketball court! The resort activities are available to all guests and are included with your cabin rental. No need to carry your wallet around day to day, simply enjoy your vacation! We do ask that guests understand that paddleboards and other included activities are first come first use for all guests.
Our Floating Playground is the largest in the area with over 20 inflatable toys! Each one is anchored in water deep enough to be safe for all when jumping or diving off of. For some toys this does mean they are anywhere from 100 - 250 feet from the docks in the swimming area. Life jackets are available in the beach house. Many kids will also use the paddle boards & tubes to access the toys! To help ensure that your family can swim safely we have a buoy line that goes all the way around the playground & beach. NO WATERCRAFT are allowed in the swimming area. There are no exceptions to this rule and our dock hands will be strict with anyone trying.
Our beach is over 250 ft long with lots of space for your family to spread out and enjoy the summer weather! Build sand castles, sun bathe, relax with a good book or toss your kids off the dock! Have fun and enjoy Lake Life!
Resort Amenities
Here at Arcadia we strive to include amenities in the cabin rental instead of charging guests extra for every little thing. Regardless of the cabin or summer week chosen all of our guests enjoy the same amenities and activities. The goal has been to build an all inclusive vacation making your trip as simple and easy has possible. Does your group own their own boats? Bring them with we have enough docking to handle over 40 guest watercraft. Unlike many resorts that would charge you for extra dock slips we don't! Does your group like an evening campfire or maybe the occasional bonfire? Firewood is provided for all 20+ firepits available at Arcadia. Even if your bringing your own self contained firepit we will provide the firewood so you don't have to buy overpriced bundles or haul it from home. Do your kids want to take the paddle boats out to do some fishing? Don't worry about checking one out, just grab one and go. Same with paddle boards and canoes!

Big Turtle Lake is a 2000 acre glacial dug spring fed lake with a max depth of 150'. Our deep and clear water keep the lake temps cool and prevent many problems like swimmers itch and algae blooms. Our lake is big enough to spend the week exploring but small enough you won't have to worry about windy days or storms causing a risky situation. There is 21 miles of lakeshore, 9 islands and numerous bays/coves for you to explore! Fully half of the lakeshore is held in state or federal hands. This means miles of untamed wilderness. With a clarity of 15' deep guests are always amazed how clean and clear the water is! This makes Big Turtle not only a great Lake for swimming & watersports but also an amazing Bass fishery. For the last 20 years we have had a special slot limit on Smallmouth Bass and coupled with our push to practice catch & release the fishery has dependably produced Bass over 20". We highly recommend guests take good photos and have a replica made when they catch a trophy Bass. By "Putting The Monsters Back" we can ensure that for generations to come Big Turtle Lake will provide families from across the Mid-West excellent fishing!
